Nachdem wir mit der Fähre von Picton angekommen sind haben wir in Wellington die Weta Cave besucht. Das ist ein Spezialeffekte Studio für viele Filme, unter anderem Krampus, Herr der Ringe und viele mehr. Außerdem werden auch Statuen aus Silikon und Echthaar für Ausstellungen (haben wir am nächsten Tag im Te Papa Museum gesehen) gefertigt.
Die Nacht haben wir dann auf einem wunderschönen Freedomcampingplatz am Meer verbracht.
Zum Frühstück gab es dann am Sonntag Pancakes mit Bacon und Café mit Aussicht. 
Anschließend haben wir uns das Muesum Te Papa angeschaut welches sehr beeindruckend war. 
Hier hätten wir noch viel mehr Zeit verbringen können aber wir hatten andere Pläne… für uns ging es weiter nach Okato zu Elmar.
Wellington the windy city
After we left the ferry terminal we were a bit overwhelmed by the amount of people and cars in Wellington, we are just not used to that anymore after spending so much time on the south island!
We visited the weta cave, a studio for special effects. They were working on Lord of the Rings, Krampus and a lot of other famous movies. But there are also statues and other things for exhibitions produced (we saw some the next day in the museum).
As we wanted to get the hole freedom camping experience we were sleeping on a lovely beach and had pancakes with bacon for breakfast on sunday morning.
Afterwards we visited the museum Te Papa which is very impressive and we could have spent a lot more time than we did, but we had other plans… our plan was to visit Elmar and his family in Okato…
