Ich verbringe endlich mein erstes Wochenende in Christchurch, das wird nach 2 Monaten (wie schnell die Zeit vergeht!) in Neuseeland aber auch Zeit!
Ich bin in einem Hostel direkt am Sumner Beach (ein typisches Hostel in dem man besser nur mit Flip Flops duschen geht) und hab somit das Meer vor der Tür.
Am Freitag hab ich leider den ganzen Nachmittag damit verbracht meinen neuseeländischen Führerschein zu beantragen. Typisch bürokratisch mit einer tollen neunen Regel die das ganze leider etwas verkompliziert hat… Aber wenn das jetzt so alles passt, bekomme ich wahrscheinlich um meinen Geburtstag einen Brief mit Führerschein ??
Samstag Vormittag habe ich mich in die Stadt aufgemacht, die will schließlich auch erkundet werden.
Besonders gut hat mir die Re:START Mall gefallen – Shopping in Schiffscontainern.
Aber auch die Carboard Cathedral und die zerstörte Kirche sind beeindruckend.
Die Stadt wächst und gedeiht, sie erholt sich vom Erdboden.
Nachmittags gings endlich zum Surfen ??
Und am Abend geht’s wieder in die Stadt. Coca Cola Christmas in the Park steht auf dem Programm, so was ähnliches wie der Coca Cola Weihnachtstruck bei uns – nur halt ohne Schnee.

I’m in a hostel very close to Sumner Beach because I want to go surfing here.
It’s that kind of hostel where you should keep your sandals on while having a shower and just don’t look to close at things.
Friday afternoon I spend trying to get my New Zealand drivers license… it was so hard (they just invented a new rule again…) but at the end i got all documents together and around my birthday I should get a letter with my license (if they don’t find another mistake)!
Saturday morning sightseeing was on my plan and so I went to Christchurch City.
I really liked the idea of the Re:START shopping mall in the shipping containers.
The damage of the cathedral shocked me but I was also stunned by the cardboard cathedral and by the way the city starts to regrow again like a plant from a seedling.
In the afternoon I went surfing (it was so much fun), I think thats really my favourite kind of sports!
And for the evening there is the Coca Cola Christmas in the Park Concert on my plan.
