Lakes Tekapo & Pukaki, Mount Cook
Dieses Wochenende habe ich meinen ersten richtigen Ausflug gemacht.
Gemeinsam mit Steffie aus Tirol habe ich am Samstag einen kleinen Road Trip zu den Seen Tekapo und Pukaki sowie zum Mount Cook gestartet.
Es ist wirklich beeindruckend, wie schön blau die Seen durch den Gletscherabrieb sind.
Leider war das Wetter nicht perfekt aber wir hatten trotzdem Glück und es hat nur ein bisschen geregnet während wir gefahren sind.
Vom Kea Point aus konnten wir die Spitze des Mount Cook durch die Wolken sehen.

Rafting auf dem Rangitata
Am Sonntag ging es noch mit Rural Exchange New Zealand zum Raften auf den Rangitata River der ca. 15 Minuten von meiner Farm entfernt ist. Dort habe ich viele andere Trainees aus allen möglichen Ländern kennen gelernt die auch gerade in Neuseeland sind. Die Österreicher, Deutschen und Schweizer waren aber eindeutig in der Überzahl!
Erdbeben
In der Nacht durfte ich noch mein erstes Erdbeben hier erleben oder genauer gesagt nicht erleben. Ich hab das ganze nämlich verschlafen und erst 2 h später mitbekommen als ich kurz auf mein Handy geschaut habe und da ganz viele besorgte Nachrichten waren. Vielen Dank, dass ihr euch alle so um mich gesorgt habt ?. Ich hab dann erst mal gegoogelt was hier passiert ist.
Road Trip
I started my first adventure this weekend. Together with Steffie (also from Austria) I went on a little road trip to the lakes Tekapo and Pukaki and to mount Cook.
We had a great view at the really blue lakes.
We made a little walk to the kea point in the hunter valley and could see the peak of mount cook behind the clouds. We had such a nice day and took lots of pictures before we went back to Peel Forest.

Rafting
On Sunday we went rafting on the Rangitata river which is located about 15 minutes away from „my farm“. The event was organised by Rural Exchange New Zealand, the organisation that organised my placement. We met lots of other trainees from different countries. Although there were people from all over the world the Austrians, Germans and Swiss were the majority.
The earthquake
There was my first earthquake tonight and I was just sleeping and felt nothing although it was a pretty strong one. When I woke up 2 hours later there were so many messages on my mobile phone from people who worry about me. Thanks a lot for that ?
