Das Abenteuer in den Norden fängt damit an, dass wir (sehr aufgeregt) unseren jucy-van in Christchurch abholen. Nach einer ausgiebigen Einweisung machen wir uns endlich auf den Weg…
Über den Lewis Pass geht es bis nach Picton.
Auf dem Weg dorthin machen wir ein paar kleinere Pausen, unter anderem auch an diesem schönen Wasserfall… 
Unsere erste Nacht im Campervan haben wir in einem Holidaypark in Picton verbracht.
Am nächsten Morgen (Samstag, 4.11.17) machen wir uns auf den Weg zum Fähranleger, wo wir dann erst mal eine ganze Weile anstehen müssen. Und um ganz ehrlich zu sein, wir haben uns schon ganz schön davor gefürchtet da rein (in die Fähre) fahren zu müssen. Wir haben ja schließlich nicht das kleinste Gefährt. Am Ende war das aber gar nicht so schlimm!
Nach ungefähr 3 Stunden Fahrt haben wir dann Wellington erreicht… 
Die Nacht haben wir dann auf einem wunderschönen Freedomcampingplatz am Meer Verbacht.
Let the adventure begin…
We start our adventure to the North Island by picking up our (very cool) free jucy-campervan in Christchurch. After we got lots of instructions we are finally ready to hit the road…
As the coastal route through Kaikoura is still not reopened after last years earthquake we are driving over the Lewis Pass on our way to Picton. We are stopping a couple of time, also at this magnificent waterfall in the middle of nowhere.
For our first night in the van we have chosen a holiday park in Picton, not far from the Interislander Ferry terminal.
On Saturday we are driving to the ferry terminal and to be honest we are a bit afraid of boarding with the big van… But in the end it was actually not that bad – and fear is no choice anyway…
After about 3 hours we reached Wellington…
